What is A&K?
In today's dynamic world, maritime commerce serves as the backbone of global trade, transporting more than 70% of goods by value and 80% by volume. Born from a steadfast belief in the paramount current and future role of maritime commerce, Anchor & Knots (A&K) is designed as an alternative investment firm specializing in maritime investments and designed to acquire, operate, and commercialize dry bulk shipping vessels to capture significant share of the industry.
A&K will forge best-in-class alliances and partnerships with key players in the shipping industry, enabling our investors to access promising high-yield investments while harboring a legacy of innovation and sustainability.
Why dry bulk?
The dry bulk shipping industry has been consistently growing and is poised for continuous growth. Maritime shipping handles over 11B tons of cargo and has grown 3% YoY for the last 3 decades. As a matter of fact, the growth in dry cargo, including bulk and containerized, has predominantly contributed to the recent growth of the sector.
The dry shipping industry accounts for 70% of global seaborne cargo volume. In 2022, the dry bulk shipping industry transported 3.2B tons of cargo, representing 30% of total seaborn cargo. Despite showing some cyclicality, dry bulk shipping showed consistent growth and is mission-critical to global economies, transporting essential commodities.
